Couplings

Sink couplings, also commonly referred to as sink strainers or waste couplings, are critical plumbing components used in both kitchen and bathroom sinks. These devices are installed at the base of the sink bowl and serve as the connection point between the sink’s drain outlet and the underlying waste pipe. Their primary function is to facilitate the smooth flow of wastewater from the sink into the drainage system while effectively blocking larger particles and debris that could cause blockages. Constructed from durable materials such as stainless steel, brass, or plastic, sink couplings are designed to withstand regular water exposure and resist corrosion. They typically include a perforated strainer or a removable basket that catches food scraps, hair, or other solid waste, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance. Some advanced models also come with a stopper mechanism to retain water in the sink when needed.
